A BRIEF INTRO

An airhostess’s primary job is to ensure the safety and security of passenger and she is particularly skilled and certified for safety and emergency situations. She also has the added responsibility of ensuring that the passengers have a comfortable journey by providing good customer service. Her tasks involve welcoming passengers on board, sharing flight related information, showing them emergency safety regulations and she is expected to help passengers in the time of emergency keeping their safety at the priority.

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE

3 am: Cab for the airport arrives

3:15 am: Get to the airport, screen and scrutinize in baggage

3:30 am: Report to the movement office

3:40 am: Attend briefing sessions

4 am:  Welcome the cockpit members and follow all the instructions specified to her

4:10 am: Scrutinize emergency equipment on board

4:15 am: Scrutinize cabin cleanliness and meal configuration according to the booked load of passengers

4:30 am: Welcome passengers on board

4:40 am: Distribute goodies, sweets and juices to passengers as applicable

5:10 am: Flight safety demonstration

8:30 am: Wish passengers good bye

SALARY STRUCTURE

An airhostess is paid according to her experience and the airline she works for. An inexperienced Air hostess may earn Rs. 20,000-25,000 per month. A head flight attendant can earn up to Rs. 60,000 per month. Genrally, all international airlines pay Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 1.25 lakh per month. This can differ from organization to organization, and the number of hours one clocks per month

HOW DO I GET THERE ?

The minimum qualification required is 12th pass. It is beneficial to be a graduate in any stream. A diploma in hotel management is also acceptable. Knowledge of foreign language is a plus. Some institutes like Frankfinn etc. teaches the tips and tricks to excel in this field. They also assist in getting the jobs.
